Scottish Baby Names: Announcements from Aberdeen
Scottish Baby Names: Announcements from Aberdeen
Apr 3, 2026 4:33 AM

There’s something so undeniably intriguing about reading the local birth announcements in real time as they’re published in various places.  We always relish our own monthly roundups, as well as our friend Eleanor Nickerson’s frequent feature on her British Baby Names site, which also encompasses some Irish and Scottish names.  But recently I found myself getting lost in the reveals of new Scottish bairns—all born in 2018– and couldn’t resist sharing some of my faves—particularly those with surprising first and middle combos.  Some of these have distinct Scottish burrs, some don’t. Lots of Eilidhs!
